Materials That You Will Need:
Metal wheels/Circular metal objects
Screws of all shapes and sizes
Hot glue and Glue gun
Quick Tips:
Go to IKEA in their "AS IS" section. There should be a box of spare screws. Next to the box you can find some small plastic bags with a 1$ sticker on it. If you fill that bag with screws, you only have to pay 1 dollar!!
The hot glue dries very fast on the metal because of the natural process of conduction. work fast!
Because of the coating on the screws, and simply because they are made of metal, the hot glue doesn't stay on very well. It will last as long as you aren't constantly fidgeting with it, so keep the snowflakes in a high up, safe place.
1. Start by hot glueing a very long screw in the middle of one of the metal wheels. This will serve as the support/stand.
2. Come up with a design for the "arms" of the snowflake. Here are two of mine:
For this snowflake design, start by glueing on screws to the circumference of the metal wheel. I glued mine by gluing four longer ones on the top and sides, and in between those longer ones, I glued some shorter screws. Then, to accomplish the look, simply glue on 3 small screws onto the sides of the previously glued screws. Make sure that they are placed as the teeth of a gear is placed (so that they fit in between each other).
This snowflake is a bit simpler. I glued one smaller screw on the opposite side of the stand, so that it sticks horizontally out of the middle. Then, I glued 8 "arms" onto the circumference of the metal wheel, in the same idea of the previous snowflake. Then, I just glued on two small screws onto the tips of the screws to form a "V".
